The humorless overlords of pro sports have taken to
sloganeering.
In a tour-de-force display of
virtue signaling billionaire, corporatist owners and spoiled millionaire jocks
are hell-bent on heightening the social consciousness of us, the unwashed “basket
of deplorables”.
Leading the pack is the NBA. Yes, that same NBA that cared nothing about human
rights violations in China. Now that is deplorable.
Be that as it may, the High Priests of Hoops
have blessed twenty-nine
pre-approved sentiments for woke jocks (or is it woke jokes?) to display on
their jerseys. These include: Black

Education Reform (yeah, from people who never attended classes); and
Mentor.
In the spirit inclusivity, a broader spectrum
of dialog and maybe some smiles, I offer some suggestions:

You have to admit that it beats the pants
off of the thin gruel that the Social Justices Jocks are peddling. The spirit of these sentiments will make
for a freer, more peaceful and more prosperous planet.
As a former President might say, the return of
pro sports is a “teachable moment”. I
have tried to make it so.
